This is probably one of the most exotic coffees you will ever be able to find.
It is grown in the village of SOGROME, located 7 hour by mule from the closest car road, which is already 3 hours away from the town of Valledupar, in the north eastern part of Colombia, very close to Venezuela.
It is grown by the Arawak people, in complete isolation and with an amazing degree of dedication and love, very consistent with their vision of the world.
This is one of the few places in Colombia in which you can still find TYPICA coffee trees, which were the original arabica coffee, erradicated from most other growing territories in Colombia due to the roya desease.
Ultra clean water, soil and air, get together with careful "family" growing traditions to produce this outstanding coffee that you can buy and roast for your customers, being sure you not only have a great exotic product but also an amazing story behind those beans.
You can locate the Sogrome village in Google Earth : Sogrome, Valledupar
These bags from lot 3-01-15148 were harvested during january and february and were transported by mule to Chemesquemenea (last town accesible by car), from there they were taken to Santa Marta on the Caribbean Sea and milled at the state of the art dry mill operated by Almacafé, arguably the people with the most knwledge about coffee in the world.
We recomend a medium to medium high roast level for these beans.
